He has served as a Director of Music Ministry within the Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee since 1997. He has received formal training in music and liturgy from The Catholic University of America and the University of Notre Dame. While Tom's musical preference in liturgy is choral music that spans the traditions of our oldest hymnody to today's best choral composers, he is also comfortable leading contemporary and multi-cultural music. Tom has worked with local companies and collegiate programs as a Music Director, Voice Instructor, and accompanist. His associations have included professional theatre companies such as PenArts and Emerald Coast Theatre Company, community theatre such as Pensacola Little Theatre, and colleges such as University of West Florida (BFA Musical Theatre) and Pensacola State College.
Music DirectorTom is an accomplished Music Director for Theatre. He is able to serve as accompanist, vocal coach, arranger, and conductor depending on the needs of the production. Recent productions include Hello Girls (PenArts), Big Fish (UWF), Floyd Collins (UWF), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (UWF), Fiddler on the Roof (Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee), Illyria (UWF) and Mary Poppins (PLT). He has been described as a supportive and sensitive accompanist. He is a regular pit musician and is comfortable meeting the digital synth needs of modern musical theatre. He is a comfortable sight-reader and has extensive experience accompanying auditions.ComposerTom has composed and arranged music in varied styles for stage and film productions.
